THE WHO in Cardiff (15th of December 2014)

THE WHO stopped at the 15th of December 2014 in Cardiff and I bought three tickets for this show some month ago (July 2014).

I travelled together with Charly and an old friend to Wales.

First I thought about getting tickets for London, but as I read about the concert in Cardiff they had standing places at the general admission, I prefered tickets for this show. A WHO gig with a seating place is not the one I like.

We went early to the arena, because I wanted to be very near the stage. In the meantime before the doors open, we had some good chats with other fans.

Our waiting was requited and we got a place in the second row in the middle of the stage.

The support band was "Slydigs", a band from England.

Just in time, after a short  break THE WHO hit they stage. Roger were joking about, in which town they stood and I felt they all were in a good mood.

The opening song was "I can't explain" followed by "Substitute" and "The Seeker".

The sound was like always, very loud and clear, but I think Pete wasn't pleased at the beginning with his guitar sound, and he looked some minutes a bit unsatisfied, but after this he had a lot of fun and the sound worked very well.
Pete and Roger were talking and joking between the songs.

Also the lights were fantastic and the movies on the screen show us the history of the band.

A lot of songs they played this night, I like a lot. My favorite were "So sad about us" and a great "Eminence front", which wasn't on the original set list.
All of the band were struggel with a cold and Pete used very often tissue handkerchiefs. In the middle of the show we realized that Roger had problems with his voice and Pete was joking about it, but as he took Roger in his arms, you see both are old friends and this was the greatest moment of the show. The band was going on and the fun don't fade away.

Now the crowd started to help Roger with singing and I think he was visibly touched.

In the fact that Roger lost his voice more and more, they cut the set and don't play the "Tommy" section and the "Mini Opera".

Pete and Roger got a great help to play her songs live from some good musicians.

Pino Palladino: Bass
Zak Starkey: Drums
Simon Townshend: Guitar and backing vokal

John Corey: Keyboards
Loren Gold: Keyboards
Frank Simes: Keyboards

The final song of this night was "Magic Bus" and I think Pete couldn't find an end. He played his guitar like it should be his last concert. The complete night Pete was on fire.

For me it was one of the best WHO shows I saw, because it was so emotionale to see on which way Pete try to help Roger to survive the two hours and 19 songs. They had the same power like ever.

The band gave her fans the best they could.

This is one reason why I love to see THE WHO live over the years.
